Stand inside 2,000 years of history

Sri Lanka's cultural heart is denser than most countries can dream of — five UNESCO sites in a country smaller than Ireland. Royal capitals, sacred temples, cave shrines, and stone architecture that's still standing after twenty centuries.

Most cultural trips give Sigiriya a sunrise climb, Polonnaruwa a morning by bicycle, Dambulla an hour, Kandy two days. Stitched together you have five days that change how you think about the word 'old'.

More leopards per square kilometre than anywhere else

Yala National Park has the highest leopard density on Earth. Wilpattu has the elephants, Udawalawe the herds, Minneriya the seasonal Gathering — when 300+ elephants converge on a shrinking lake, the largest such event in Asia.

We pair private safari jeeps with naturalist drivers who've spent decades reading these forests. Better than any group tour, and you set the pace.

Among the most beautiful train rides in the world

Kandy to Ella by rail is regularly named one of the world's great train journeys — and it earns the title. Seven hours through tea estates, mountain forest, vertiginous bridges and stations that haven't changed since 1924.

The doorway photos are real, but they're not the whole story. We can book second-class observation seats with reservations (no scrum), or a private chartered car for a special occasion.

Two coasts, two seasons, every kind of beach

Sri Lanka has the rare luxury of two opposing monsoons, which means there's always a beach in season. Mirissa, Tangalle and Hiriketiya in the south from December through April. Pasikuda, Nilaveli and Trincomalee in the east from May through September.

We mix surf towns with quiet coves, fishing villages with boutique fort houses. A perfect end to a cultural or wildlife trip — three days of doing nothing very impressively.

Most asked

Honest answers, not sales talk.

Twenty-five years of trips means we've heard most questions. If yours isn't here, ask us directly — we usually reply same day.

Ask us a question
When should I visit Sri Lanka?

Two seasons depending on coast. December–April is dry on the south and west coast (best for Galle, Mirissa, beaches, blue whales). May–September is dry on the east coast (best for Trincomalee, Pasikuda, sperm whales). The interior — cultural triangle, hill country — is fine year-round, with afternoon showers possible in monsoon months. We'll advise the best dates for your specific interests.

How long should I stay?

10–14 days is the sweet spot for a first trip — enough for cultural triangle, hill country and a beach finish without rushing. Seven days works if you focus on two regions. Three weeks lets you slow right down. We can plan anything from a long weekend (Colombo + Galle) to a month exploring lesser-known parts.

Is it suitable for families with young kids?

Yes — Sri Lanka is one of the friendliest destinations in Asia for families. Short driving distances, varied scenery, child-friendly hotels, and wildlife that even a five-year-old will remember. We adjust pace and accommodation to match the ages of your children.

Can we combine experiences in one trip?

That's what we do. Almost every trip we plan combines at least three of: cultural sites, wildlife, hill country, beach, and adventure. The route order, pace, and emphasis is what we tune to your preferences.

Do I need to book activities in advance?

Some yes — Sigiriya at sunrise, the Kandy–Ella train in observation class, Yala dawn safari, blue whale boats — these book out in peak season (Dec–Mar). Most others are flexible. When you book a trip with us, we handle the advance bookings.

Tell us what you love most.

We'll build a private Sri Lanka itinerary around it — pace, route, hotels, season, all yours.
