Nimal was our guide for the majority of our 2 weeke trip around Sri Lanka. He drove us all over including Sigiriya, Kandy, Ella, Udawalawe, Ahangama and Galle. Nimal always went above and beyond to enrich our experience - there’s a side of Sri Lanka we wouldn’t have seen without him - especially the surfing on Ahangama beach which was not part of our original plan! We visited just after the extreme flooding in Sri Lanka and Nimal always put our safety first. Despite the effects of the flooding he still managed to drive us to all our locations on our plan. Nimal spoke to locals and tourist attractions on our behalf to ensure we weren’t overcharged on prices and also helped us to get private tours with just us and a guide often - without him we definitely wouldn’t have had the same experience. He also had lots of stories and showed us lots of interesting things on the way including buffalo curd on the side of the road and king coconuts! We’d highly recommend Nimal and will be doing so to our family and friends!
Tea Country and Train Journey

5 Days · 4 Nights private tour, hosted by Ceylon Quay
Private chauffeur · 4 signature experiences · fully customisable
This package focuses on one of the most requested Sri Lanka experiences: the highland train journey and the landscapes around it. Instead of turning that into only a rushed photo stop, the itinerary is shaped to let the region breathe.
It works well for shorter Sri Lanka trips, photography-led travellers, or anyone whose main priority is the tea country atmosphere.
What makes this trip
- 01 Scenic train route
One of Sri Lanka’s most iconic travel experiences, best included as part of a well-timed mountain route.
- 02 Tea country views
The hill-country scenery gives the package a strong visual identity and a calmer travel mood.
- 03 Ella or Nuwara Eliya
Both work well as scenic bases, with the final route shaped around timing and guest preference.
- 04 Cool mountain atmosphere
The climate shift itself is part of the package appeal and helps the route feel distinct from coastal Sri Lanka.
Day-by-day

Arrival and move inland

We requested a completely bespoke honeymoon and every single detail was perfect - boutique villa overlooking tea hills, sunrise at Sigiriya. Pure, unforgettable magic.
As a solo traveller, safety was my top priority. My guide made me feel like I had a trusted local friend at every step.
